Problem-solving webinar for future engineers
A problem-solving webinar for Coca-Cola İçecek (CCI), aimed at university engineering students. Participants worked through a sequence ranging from accurate problem definition and root cause analysis to systematic methods and generative AI.

Inside the project
Focus
How should an engineer moving from university into working life approach problems?
CCI wanted future engineers at university to gain the ability to recognize, correctly define and methodically solve problems before entering working life.
The webinar was structured to highlight the difference between problem solving learned at university and real workplace problems.
A good solution begins the moment the problem is correctly defined.
Scope
We conducted an online problem-solving webinar with engineering students. We worked through a process ranging from problem definition and root cause analysis to systematic methods and generative artificial intelligence tools.
Implementation
Bonus session: problem solving with generative AI
Following the conventional methods, the bonus session demonstrated how generative AI can serve as a thinking partner in problem definition and generating alternative solutions.
The journey we designed
- 01EXPLOREThe differences students would encounter in their approach to problem solving when moving from university to working life were examined.
- 02REFRAMEProblem solving was framed as a way of thinking that begins with defining the right problem, rather than finding the right answer.
- 03BRING IT INTO THE ORGANIZATIONParticipants were introduced to a set of methods, from root cause analysis to decision making, that they could use directly at work.
Kaykayoğlu project insight
The first skill in engineering is not solving, but recognizing the right problem.
