Inside the project
Focus
How can a university rebuild the connection between research and the sector?
The TOBB Üniversitesi TTO project focused on addressing the organization’s training needs within a university and ecosystem framework.
The gap between research and practice is closed through the right ecosystem design. This project was built around that design.
The weak link in university–sector relations was not knowledge transfer, but the two sides’ inability to establish a shared agenda.
Scope
We met with the organization’s technology transfer office team to address the commercialization of scientific outputs. We delivered a training session focused on this topic.
Implementation
HOW WAS ECOSYSTEM DESIGN USED IN THIS PROJECT?
We treated ecosystem design not as an organizational chart but as a system in which universities, businesses and entrepreneurs participate in a shared flow of value. TTO and technopark structures are nodes in this system.
A strong university does not just produce knowledge, but connects it to society’s future.
The journey we designed
- 01EXPLOREA situation map was developed by considering the organization's real needs, current ways of working and external signals together.
- 02REFRAMEParticipants practiced creative problem solving and application through their own real work problems.
- 03BRING IT INTO THE ORGANIZATIONA follow-through plan was developed with teams to connect the methods learned to daily workflows.
Kaykayoğlu project insight
A university’s contribution to society is measured not by graduate numbers, but by where research turns into value.
