Data and Predictive Analysis with YZ Workshop
Held on 22 and 24 April 2024 and facilitated by Prof. Dr. C. Ruhi Kaykayoğlu and Y. Bora Kaykayoğlu, the workshop offers participants comprehensive training in developing insights through data analysis and forecasting methods using artificial intelligence tools. This two-day workshop aims to equip participants with data analysis and forecasting skills. The first day focuses on the fundamentals of data processing with artificial intelligence tools and aims to explore the analytical features of tools such as ChatGPT and Copilot. On the second day, participants put their learning into practice in a hands-on workshop where they develop their own forecasting models using prepared case datasets. Key Objectives: 1. Teach the Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis Modeling: Explain the foundations of artificial intelligence data processing tools needed for forecasting and data analysis. 2. Practice with Analytical Tools: Build data analysis skills using the analytical features of artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT and Copilot. 3. Apply Learning to Prepared Datasets: Participants use prepared datasets to develop their own forecasting mod

Inside the project
Focus
How can a new technology become part of teams’ actual workflows?
The 2024 project focused on addressing a workshop need through technology. The organization wanted not only to purchase new tools but also to embed them in how teams work.
The gap between technology and practice is the real challenge for most organizations. This project focused on closing that gap.
Facilitated by Bora Kaykayoğlu, it offers participants comprehensive training in developing insights through data analysis and forecasting methods using artificial intelligence tools.
The main barrier to AI adoption was not a lack of tools, but teams’ inability to connect the technology with their real business problems.
Scope
We worked with participants on the fundamentals of data processing, analysis and forecasting using AI tools. We used the analytical features of tools such as ChatGPT and Copilot to practise developing predictive models with prepared case datasets.
Implementation
WHAT ROLE DID GENAI PLAY IN THIS PROJECT?
GenAI was positioned not as a tool that produces ready-made answers, but as a working partner that helps teams address their own problems through stronger questions. Every example was drawn from a real business context.
AI transformation begins not with purchasing new tools, but with people using them to ask stronger questions.
The journey we designed
- 01EXPLOREA situation map was developed by considering the organization's real needs, current ways of working and external signals together.
- 02REFRAMEThroughout the workshop, teams worked collaboratively on their own problems. Each stage concluded with an output.
Kaykayoğlu project insight
Technology becomes an organizational capability only when it enters teams’ actual workflows.
