From Idea to Project with GenAI
At TOFAŞ, we brought idea development methods together with generative AI across four groups. Business ideas were structured on the Business Model Canvas and presented as project approaches linked to strategic GenAI planning.
01 — What did the organization need?
The starting point for the work at TOFAŞ was the journey from a business idea to a project. GenAI was addressed within the idea development process, not as a technology topic outside it.
02 — What change brought this need to light?
Generative AI was offering new options. Rather than listing these options, the workshop focused on structuring a business idea alongside creative thinking methods.
03 — Which questions did we explore?
How can an idea become a project step by step with GenAI support? How can the developed approach be connected to TOFAŞ’s strategic GenAI planning?
04 — What process did we undertake together?
Y. Bora Kaykayoğlu guided the training and workshop conducted with four groups in 2025. Teams experienced SCAMPER, biomimicry and Double Diamond methods.
Business ideas were structured on the Business Model Canvas with GenAI support. This brought creative thinking methods and business model development into the same workflow.
05 — What did teams start doing differently?
Rather than leaving their ideas as single proposals, participants developed them through creative thinking methods and a business model framework. They used generative AI as strategic support at each step.
06 — What emerged at the end of the project?
Business ideas structured with GenAI support and presentations of the developed projects. These projects were presented as approaches aligned with TOFAŞ’s strategic GenAI planning.
At this point in the story, we distinguish the delivered project approach from post-implementation impact. The project record describes the development and presentation of the projects.
07 — What did we learn from this project?
What distinguished this workshop was that GenAI and creative thinking methods did not replace one another. The methods shaped the idea’s development direction, and GenAI was used within that process.
