AI Training and Development Process
Designed for TOFAŞ in 2025, the two-stage AI Training and Development Process began with an online webinar for 100 people and continued with full-day, in-person classroom training in groups of 20. Co-led by Prof. Dr. C. Ruhi Kaykayoğlu and Y. Bora Kaykayoğlu, each stage was supported by AI Challenge tasks in which participants tried what they had learned in their real work, along with anonymous assessment questionnaires.

Inside the project
Focus
How can AI training become lasting behavioral change in participants' daily work?
TOFAŞ wanted to build AI competence through a development process progressing at different levels of depth, rather than through one-off training.
The program was therefore designed in two stages. An online webinar for a broad audience established a shared language, followed by more intensive practical work in small-group, in-person training.
Each stage concluded with AI Challenge tasks in which participants tried what they had learned in their own work contexts, and anonymous assessment questionnaires that made this experience visible.
Training impact can be measured not by the content delivered, but by the tasks participants try in their own work and by making that experience visible.
Scope
We conducted a two-stage artificial intelligence training and development program with the teams. In the online webinar, we covered generative AI concepts, case studies, and live tool applications. In hands-on workshops, we focused on model performance analysis, prompt engineering, and large language models, concluding the process with practical assignment tasks.
Implementation
WHAT ROLE DID GENAI PLAY IN THIS PROJECT?
Generative AI was positioned not merely as a topic to teach, but as a working tool that participants tested on their own business problems throughout the training. AI Challenge tasks were designed as a bridge for applying learning to real work.
What turns training into a development process is not the content, but trying what has been learned at work and reflecting that experience back to the participant.
The journey we designed
- 01EXPLOREAn online webinar for 100 people addressed generative AI concepts, business applications, strengths, weaknesses and risks within a shared framework.
- 02REFRAMEFull-day, in-person training in groups of 20 applied prompt engineering, model performance analysis and project optimization through workshops based on real cases.
- 03BRING IT INTO THE ORGANIZATIONAI Challenge tasks and anonymous assessment questionnaires were used to analyze how each participant applied their learning. Results were shared in an evaluation report that served as a roadmap.
Kaykayoğlu project insight
AI competence begins not in the training room, but with the first task a participant tries in their own work.
