Understanding the Digital World
Through Büyem, we held training with Mengerler managers at Boğaziçi University's South Campus on 25-26 November, covering Industry 4.0 components, understanding the digital age and changing global dynamics. Led by our Design Director, Y. Bora Kaykayoğlu, the training also included an ideation workshop focused on improving car sales, showroom design and service/maintenance processes using 30 technologies of the future.

Inside the project
Focus
How can a university rebuild the connection between research and the sector?
The Boğaziçi University project focused on addressing the organization's workshop needs within a university and ecosystem framework.
The gap between research and practice is closed through the right ecosystem design. This project was built around that design.
Through Büyem, we delivered training for Mengerler managers at Boğaziçi Üniversitesi's South Campus on 25-26 November, covering Industry 4.0 components, understanding the digital age and changing global dynamics.
The weak link in university–sector relations was not knowledge transfer, but the two sides’ inability to establish a shared agenda.
Scope
We worked with the organization's managers on the components of Industry 4.0, the digital age and changing global dynamics. In an ideation workshop exploring future technologies, we focused on improving car sales, showroom design and service and maintenance processes.
Implementation
HOW WAS ECOSYSTEM DESIGN USED IN THIS PROJECT?
We treated ecosystem design not as an organizational chart but as a system in which universities, businesses and entrepreneurs participate in a shared flow of value. TTO and technopark structures are nodes in this system.
A strong university does not just produce knowledge, but connects it to society’s future.
The journey we designed
- 01EXPLOREA situation map was developed by considering the organization's real needs, current ways of working and external signals together.
- 02REFRAMEThroughout the workshop, teams worked collaboratively on their own problems. Each stage concluded with an output.
Kaykayoğlu project insight
A university’s contribution to society is measured not by graduate numbers, but by where research turns into value.
